President Moon Jae-in & BTS at the Sustainable Development Goals Moment | United Nations

 

 

Remarks and introduction to Special Guest by His Excellency, Mr. Moon Jae-in, President of the Republic of Korea Remarks and performance by BTS, Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and Culture. The SDG Moment serves to place an annual spotlight on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and will be held at the beginning of the United Nation’s General Assembly’s High-Level Week. It takes place as the world experiences a deeply uneven response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which risks creating a two-tier recovery with significant implications for the advancement of the SDGs, especially in developing countries. Convened by the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the Moment will provide world leaders with a platform to showcase the bold plans, actions and solutions that are needed to end the COVID-19 pandemic and set the world on course towards achieving the SDGs. Held in advance of major meetings on food systems, climate, energy, jobs and social protection, the SDG Moment event is expected to build the momentum needed to deliver on the Decade of Action and Keep the Promise of the SDGs.

지속가능발전목표 (SDGs) 모멘트(moment) - 방탄소년단, 유엔 사무총장, 총회의장 등 | 유엔 (오전세션) 지속가능발전목표 모멘트는 매년 지속가능발전목표(SDGs)를 조명하는 역할을 합니다. 전세계가 코로나 바이러스 대유행에 대해 매우 불균등한 대응을 경험하고 있고, 특히 개발도상국들에서는 지속가능발전목표2단계로의 발전을 저해할 가능성이 있으며, 이는 지속가능발전목표 이행 및 추진에 상당한 영향을 미칠 것입니다.

"김정숙 여사가 BTS와 메트로폴리탄 미술관 한국실을 방문했습니다" - 김정숙 여사, "메트로폴리탄 한국실, 한국 전통의 아름다움과 한류를 세계인에게 전하는 공간되길" - BTS 리더 RM, "미래문화특사로서 K-컬쳐를 넓혀나갈 수 있도록 사명감을 가지고 일하겠다"

제76차 유엔 총회를 계기로 문재인 대통령과 뉴욕을 방문 중인 김정숙 여사는 9월 20일 오후(현지시각), 미래세대와 문화를 위한 대통령 특별사절로 임명된 BTS와 메트로폴리탄 미술관 한국실을 방문했습니다.

뉴욕의 메트로폴리탄 미술관은 미국 최대 규모의 미술관으로 1998년 한국실을 개관한 이래 전담큐레이터를 두고 다양한 주제의 한국 특별전을 여는 등 한국문화의 전통과 아름다움을 세계인들에게 알리는 역할을 톡톡히 하고 있습니다.

이날 BTS와 만난 김정숙 여사는 "오전에 있었던 SDG 모멘트 연설과 공연이 굉장히 인상적이었다"고 말했고, 맥스 홀라인 미술관장은 "오늘 BTS의 연설과 퍼포먼스로 지속가능한 미래에 관심을 갖게 해 줘서 고맙다"고 했습니다.

이후 한국실로 이동한 김정숙 여사와 BTS는 신라의 금동반가사유상, 고려시대의 청자피리, 현대의 분청사기와 달항아리 등 전시품들을 관람하였습니다. BTS 멤버들은 금동반가사유상을 보며 "좋아하는 작품"이라 밝혔고 RM은 "달항아리의 찌그러진 형태에서 매력을 느낀다"고 감상평을 말했습니다. 김정숙 여사는 "달항아리는 두 개의 반구를 합쳐 하나가 되는 것"이라 설명하면서 “방탄소년단이 다양한 예술에 조예가 깊다”고 말했습니다.

이후 김정숙 여사와 BTS는 미술관 루프가든에 마련된 한국 공예품 전달식에 참석했습니다. 이날전달된 정해조 작가의 ‘오색광율’은 한국의 전통직물인 삼베를 다섯가지 색의 천연 옻칠로 겹겹이 이어붙인 공예품으로 12월 개막 예정인 ‘한국 나전 칠기 특별전’에 전시될 예정입니다.

김정숙 여사는 축사를 통해 “미술관 한국실의 한국에서 온 다양한 문화유산과 현대의 작품들이 문화외교사절 역할을 하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 한국실이 한국 전통의 아름다움과 더불어 약동하는 오늘의 한류를 세계인에게 전하는 뜻깊은 공간이 되기를 바란다”고 말했습니다.

BTS의 리더 RM은 "김정숙 여사님과 한국실을 관람하며 벅찬 마음이 들었다"며 "한국을 대표하는 미래문화특사로서 한국문화의 위대함과 K-컬처의 가능성을 더욱더 확장시키고, 더 넓혀 나갈 수 있도록 사명감을 가지고 열심히 일하겠다"고 밝혔습니다.

이날 행사에는 김정숙 여사, BTS와 함께 우리측 인사로는 황희 문화체육관광부 장관, 이수혁 주미대사 부인 등이 참석했고 미국측 인사로는 다니얼 와이스 메트로폴리탄 미술관 CEO, 맥스 홀라인 미술관장 등이 참석했습니다.
