Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery - Barnsdall Art Park We visited the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery - Barnsdall Art Park on 28 February 2004, 3:00pm. Professor Michael Miller gave us a personal tour of the Art Gallery as well as the Park. We began with the tour of the Art Gallery where they just began to install new pictures for the next exhibit called “City Dialogues & The Political Landscape” featuring many artists and writers. The Gallery comprised of very high ceilings and many walls with for pictures to be presented. The ground is made of cement and blends well with the surroundings. We viewed each art pieces that were already on the wall and Professor Miller gave a brief summary in what the artist was trying to tell the audience. Pictures came in many sizes from small to very large, different colors blended well together. Preparation for exhibits, the use of colors, sizing pictures for presentations is no easy tasks we found out. Choosing Artist and themes is also very important for the exhibition to the public. Professor Miller also gave us the history of the Park how Ms. Barnsdall donated the house designed by Franklin Loydd Wright to City in the 1920s It was the first time for me to visit the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery and was very impressed along with the Barnsdall Art Park.
