6.   기도란?  What is Prayer?

 

 

대화 없는 부부가 있다면 그들은 필경 파경을 맞고 말 것입니다.

대화 없는 부자지간이 있다면 남남과 다를 바가 조금도 없습니다.

그들 사이에 주고 받는 사랑이나 도움, 격려 등이 있을 까닭이 없습니다.

하나님은 '말씀' 으로 우리에게 말씀하시고, 우리는 기도로 하나님께 말씀드립니다.

더욱이 우리는 기도를 통해 하나님 말씀의 의미를 바로 깨닫게 됩니다.

그리서 기도란 하나님과 인간 사이를 연결짓는 절대적인 통로입니다.

하나님을 믿는다고 하면서도 기도하지 않는다면 그것은 별거 중인 부부와 같습니다.

기도하지 않는 크리스천,

그가 아무리 열심을 다해 교회를 다녀도 하나님께서 사랑하시는 하나님의 자녀가 될 수 없습니다.

 

 

기도란 하나님의 뜻을 알아가는 것, 즉 이웃을 내 몸같이 사랑하는 것이다.

1. 1 Thessalonians 데살로니가전서 5장 16~18절은 '쉬지 말고 기도하라' 고 명령하고 있습니다.

    쉬지말고 기도해야 할 까닭은 무엇입니까?

 

¹⁶ Be joyful always;

¹⁷ pray continually;

¹⁸ give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

 

¹⁶ 항상 기뻐하라

¹⁷ 쉬지 말고 기도하라

¹⁸ 범사에 감사하라 이것이 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희를 향하신 하나님의 뜻이니라

 

 

1-1. John 요한복음 14:13~14

¹³ And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.

¹⁴ You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

 

¹³ 너희가 내 이름으로 무엇을 구하든지 내가 행하리니 이는 아버지로 하여금 아들로 말미암아 영광을 받으시게 하려 함이라
¹⁴ 내 이름으로 무엇이든지 내게 구하면 내가 행하리라

 

1-2. 그렇다면 다음과 같은 질문이 제기됩니다. 이에 답해 보십시오.

 

1-2-1. 이와 같은 특권을 주시는 이유가 무엇입니까?

바른 신앙은 하나님의 영광을 위해서 인격의 변화가 있느냐 없느냐의 차이다.

 

1-2-2. 정말 모든 기도는 응답됩니까?

John 요한복음 15:7

If you remain in me and my words remain in you,

ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.

 

너희가 내 안에 거하고 내 말이 너희 안에 거하면

무엇이든지 원하는 대로 구하라 그리하면 이루리라   

 

1-2-3. 과연 쉬지않고 기도하는 것이 가능한 일입니까?

 

 

1-3. Acts 사도행전 4:29~30 : 사도들의 대표적인 기도 내용

²⁹ Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.

³⁰ Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus."

 

²⁹ 주여 이제도 그들의 위협함을 굽어보시옵고 또 종들로 하여금 담대히 하나님의 말씀을 전하게 하여 주시오며 
³⁰ 손을 내밀어 병을 낫게 하시옵고 표적과 기사가 거룩한 종 예수의 이름으로 이루어지게 하옵소서 하더라

1-3-1. "이제도 그들의 위협함을 굽어보시옵고"

1-3-2. "종들로 하여금 담대히 하나님의 말씀을 전하게 하여 주시오며"

1-3-3. "그리스도의 능력이 드러나도록"

 

 

2. Matthew 마태복음 8장 1~15절을 통해 기도의 발전과정을 살펴봅시다

2-1. The Man With Leprosy 문둥병 환자 : 나를 위한 기도에서...

¹ When he came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him.

² A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean."

³ Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said.

"Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy.

⁴ Then Jesus said to him, "See that you don't tell anyone.

But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."

 

¹ 예수께서 산에서 내려 오시니 수많은 무리가 따르니라 
² 한 나병환자가 나아와 절하며 이르되 주여 원하시면 저를 깨끗하게 하실 수 있나이다 하거늘 
³ 예수께서 손을 내밀어 그에게 대시며 이르시되 내가 원하노니 깨끗함을 받으라 하시니 즉시 그의 나병이 깨끗하여진지라 
⁴ 예수께서 이르시되 삼가 아무에게도 이르지 말고

다만 가서 제사장에게 네 몸을 보이고 모세가 명한 예물을 드려 그들에게 입증하라 하시니라

 

2-2. The Faith of the Centurion 백부장 : 다른사람을 위한 기도로 발전...

 ⁵ When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help.

 ⁶ "Lord," he said, "my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering."

 ⁷ Jesus said to him, "I will go and heal him."

 ⁸ The centurion replied, "Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof.

But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

 ⁹ For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me.

I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and that one, 'Come,' and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."

¹⁰ When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him,

"I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.

¹¹ I say to you that many will come from the east and the west,

¹² But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness,

where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

 ¹³ Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go! It will be done just as you believed it would."

And his servant was healed at that very hour.

⁶ 이르되 주여 내 하인이 중풍병으로 집에 누워 몹시 괴로워하나이다
⁷ 이르시되 내가 가서 고쳐 주리라 
⁸ 백부장이 대답하여 이르되 주여 내 집에 들어오심을 나는 감당하지 못하겠사오니

다만 말씀으로만 하옵소서 그러면 내 하인이 낫겠사옵나이다 
⁹ 나도 남의 수하에 있는 사람이요 내 아래에도 군사가 있으니

이더러 가라 하면 가고 저더러 오라 하면 오고 내 종더러 이것을 하라 하면 하나이다
¹⁰ 예수께서 들으시고 놀랍게 여겨 따르는 자들에게 이르시되

내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 이스라엘 중 아무에게서도 이만한 믿음을 보지 못하였노라
¹¹ 또 너희에게 이르노니 동 서로부터 많은 사람이 이르러 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱과 함께 천국에 앉으려니와
¹² 그 나라의 본 자손들은 바깥 어두운 데 쫓겨나 거기서 울며 이를 갈게 되리라
¹³ 예수께서 백부장에게 이르시되 가라 네 믿은 대로 될지어다 하시니 그 즉시 하인이 나으니라

2-3. Jesus Heals Many 베드로 : 예수님과 동행하므로 그 필요를 미리 아시고 채우시더라.

¹⁴ When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever.

¹⁵ He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him.

 

¹⁴ 예수께서 베드로의 집에 들어가사 그의 장모가 열병으로 앓아 누운 것을 보시고
¹⁵ 그의 손을 만지시니 열병이 떠나가고 여인이 일어나서 예수께 수종들더라

 

 

3. 기도와 관련된 다음의 말씀들을 함께 묵상해 봅시다.

 

3-1. Matthew 마태복음 6:7~8 : 우리에게 필요한 것을 아버지가 미리 아신다. 아버지가 이미 나에게 있어야 할 것을 정하셨다.

 

⁷ And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.

⁸ Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

 

⁷ 또 기도할 때에 이방인과 같이 중언부언하지 말라 그들은 말을 많이 하여야 들으실 줄 생각하느니라 
⁸ 그러므로 그들을 본받지 말라 구하기 전에 너희에게 있어야 할 것을 하나님 너희 아버지께서 아시느니라

 

3-2. Matthew 마태복음 6:9~13

 

⁹ "This, then, is how you should pray:
   " 'Our Father in heaven,
   hallowed be your name,
 ¹⁰ your kingdom come,
   your will be done
      on earth as it is in heaven.
 ¹¹ Give us today our daily bread.
 ¹² Forgive us our debts,
      as we also have forgiven our debtors.
 ¹³ And lead us not into temptation,
   but deliver us from the evil one.

 

9    그러므로 너희는 이렇게 기도하라

      하늘에 계신 우리 아버지여

      이름이 거룩히 여김을 받으시오며
10    나라가 임하시오며

       뜻이 하늘에서 이루어진 것 같이

       땅에서도 이루어지이다
11    오늘 우리에게 일용할 양식을 주시옵고
12    우리가 우리에게 죄 지은 자를 사하여 준 것 같이

       우리 죄를 사하여 주시옵고
13    우리를 시험에 들게 하지 마시옵고

       다만 악에서 구하시옵소서

       (나라와 권세와 영광이 아버지께 영원히 있사옵나이다 아멘

 

 

3-2-1. 이 기도문의 핵심은 무엇입니까?

아름다운 결단

3-2-2. 이런 기도가 가능할 수 있는 토대가 무엇입니까?

호티 - 대개... Because... 그러므로... 그렇기 때문에... 모든 것이 아버지 것입니다.

 

 

3-3. Matthew 마태복음 6:25~34  Do Not Worry 

그의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라. 그리하면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 더하시리라.

 

 ²⁵"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

²⁶Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

²⁷Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

²⁸"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.

²⁹Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

³⁰If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

³¹So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'

³²For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

³³But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

³⁴Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

 

25    그러므로 내가 너희에게 이르노니 목숨을 위하여 무엇을 먹을까 무엇을 마실까 몸을 위하여 무엇을 입을까 염려하지 말라

       목숨이 음식보다 중하지 아니하며 몸이 의복보다 중하지 아니하냐
26    공중의 새를 보라 심지도 않고 거두지도 않고 창고에 모아들이지도 아니하되 너희 하늘 아버지께서 기르시나니

       너희는 이것들보다 귀하지 아니하냐
27    너희 중에 누가 염려함으로 그 키를 한 자라도 더할 수 있겠느냐
28    또 너희가 어찌 의복을 위하여 염려하느냐 들의 백합화가 어떻게 자라는가 생각하여 보라

       수고도 아니하고 길쌈도 아니하느니라
29    그러나 내가 너희에게 말하노니 솔로몬의 모든 영광으로도 입은 것이 이 꽃 하나만 같지 못하였느니라
30    오늘 있다가 내일 아궁이에 던져지는 들풀도 하나님이 이렇게 입히시거든 하물며 너희일까보냐 믿음이 작은 자들아
31    그러므로 염려하여 이르기를 무엇을 먹을까 무엇을 마실까 무엇을 입을까 하지 말라
32    이는 다 이방인들이 구하는 것이라 너희 하늘 아버지께서 이 모든 것이 너희에게 있어야 할 줄을 아시느니라
33    그런즉 너희는 먼저 그의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라 그리하면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 더하시리라
34    그러므로 내일 일을 위하여 염려하지 말라 내일 일은 내일이 염려할 것이요 한 날의 괴로움은 그 날로 족하니라

 

 

3-4. Matthew 마태복음 26: 36~39 : 주님의 뜻을 분별하고자 하는 기도

아버지의 원대로 하옵소서.

십자가의 잔 - 나만을 위한 기도는 닫힌 기도이며, 하나님의 뜻을 위한 기도는 열린 기도이다.

 

³⁶ Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them,

"Sit here while I go over there and pray."

³⁷ He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled.

³⁸ Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."

³⁹ Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed,

"My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

 

36    이에 예수께서 제자들과 함께 겟세마네라 하는 곳에 이르러 제자들에게 이르시되

       내가 저기 가서 기도할 동안에 너희는 여기 앉아 있으라 하시고
37    베드로와 세베대의 두 아들을 데리고 가실새 고민하고 슬퍼하사
38    이에 말씀하시되 내 마음이 매우 고민하여 죽게 되었으니 너희는 여기 머물러 나와 함께 깨어 있으라 하시고
39    조금 나아가사 얼굴을 땅에 대시고 엎드려 기도하여 이르시되 내 아버지여

       만일 할 만하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서 그러나 나의 원대로 마시옵고 아버지의 원대로 하옵소서 하시고

 

 

3-5. Hebrews 히브리서 7:24~25

 

²⁴ but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.

²⁵ Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him,

because he always lives to intercede for them.

 

24    예수는 영원히 계시므로 그 제사장 직분도 갈리지 아니하느니라
25    그러므로 자기를 힘입어 하나님께 나아가는 자들을 온전히 구원하실 수 있으니

이는 그가 항상 살아 계셔서 그들을 위하여 간구하심이라

 

       Romans 로마서 8:26

 

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for,

but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

 

이와 같이 성령도 우리의 연약함을 도우시나니 우리는 마땅히 기도할 바를 알지 못하나

오직 성령이 말할 수 없는 탄식으로 우리를 위하여 친히 간구하시느니라

 

3-6. John 요한복음 15:7

 

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.

 

너희가 내 안에 거하고 내 말이 너희 안에 거하면 무엇이든지 원하는 대로 구하라 그리하면 이루리라

 

 

3-7. Matthew 마태복음 7: 7~11  Ask, Seek, Knock 구하라 찾으라 문을 두드리라

 

 ⁷ "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

 ⁸ For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

 ⁹ "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

¹⁰ Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?

 

7    구하라 그리하면 너희에게 주실 것이요 찾으라 그리하면 찾아낼 것이요 문을 두드리라 그리하면 너희에게 열릴 것이니
8    구하는 이마다 받을 것이요 찾는 이는 찾아낼 것이요 두드리는 이에게는 열릴 것이니라
9    너희 중에 누가 아들이 떡을 달라 하는데 돌을 주며
10    생선을 달라 하는데 뱀을 줄 사람이 있겠느냐

 

3-8. Matthew 마태복음 7: 11~12

 

¹¹If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,

how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

¹²So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

 

11    너희가 악한 자라도 좋은 것으로 자식에게 줄 줄 알거든 하물며

       하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께서 구하는 자에게 좋은 것으로 주시지 않겠느냐
12    그러므로 무엇이든지 남에게 대접을 받고자 하는 대로 너희도 남을 대접하라 이것이 율법이요 선지자니라

 

3-9. Matthew 마태복음 22:37~40   The Greatest Commandment

 

³⁷Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'

³⁸This is the first and greatest commandment.

³⁹And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'

⁴⁰All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

 

37    예수께서 이르시되 네 마음을 다하고 목숨을 다하고 뜻을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑하라 하셨으니
38    이것이 크고 첫째 되는 계명이요
39    둘째도 그와 같으니 네 이웃을 네 자신 같이 사랑하라 하셨으니
40    이 두 계명이 온 율법과 선지자의 강령이니라
