Metaphor 가 저에게는 더욱 흥미롭습니다

“brave as a lion” 같은 simile 보다는

“all nature smiled” 같은 metaphor 가

스스로 생각할 수 있는 기회를 주기때문 입니다.

 

1+1=2 라는 주입식 교육에 대한 반항에서 나온 생각 일 지도…

1+1=1 이 될 수 도 있고, (cf. drops of liquid, amoeba, etc.)

답이 여러 가지 일 수 도 있고,

(cf. A number of family members increases when couple’s having babies.)

“정답은 없음” 도 될 수 있지요…

so many possibilities for other reasons… (cf. 시너지, 늦동이가 쌍둥이 인 경우 etc.)

 

문제는 사회가 the herd 를 조장한다는 것입니다

부동산 투기도 그렇고 한국 엄마들 치마바람도…

자신의 정체성을 찾기도 전에 어느새 the herd 의 일원이 되어버린다는 것…

‘the herd’ 의 Henry David Thoreau 의 표현을 보아도 알듯이…

“It is the luxurious and dissipated who set the fashions which the herd so diligently follow”

 

 

“The Moon is down” 의 표현 중에...

"Flies conquer the flypaper” 와 같은…
